Designers

Artifort and designers. How one and one makes three. For more than eighty years now, Artifort has provided major designers from home and abroad with the room to work on innovative designs. They forge together beauty, functionality and form to create a unity that favourably received throughout the world. The foundations of Artifort were laid by classic icons created by designers such as Kho Liang Ie, Pierre Paulin and Geoffrey D. Harcourt RDI. The current generation of renowned top designers such as Patrick Norguet, Khodi Feiz, René Holten, Monica Förster and many other designers are continuing the Artifort DNA.

Scholten & Baijings

Where innovation, colour and refinement converge in functional design.

Stefan Scholten (1972) and Carole Baijings (1973) founded their eponymous design studio Scholten & Baijings in 2000 and are regarded as one of the world’s most innovative and dynamic design duos. Known for sensitive, subtle yet functional products, striking and often surprising use of colour and refined finishes, they have gained great acclaim in the international design world. They have applied this individual style to everything, from textiles, wood, ceramics, glass and furniture to consumer electronics and even a concept car. Studio Scholten & Baijings has realised more than a hundred projects, including collaborations with international brands such as Maharam, IKEA, HAY, Moroso, Herman Miller, Samsung and MINI. A variety of exhibitions have also been organised, including at the Cooper-Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in New York. The duo’s unique design vision is documented in the book Reproducing Scholten & Baijings. In 1998 Stefan Scholten (Copray & Scholten) designed the ‘Relay’ Chaise Longue for Artifort, and for more than 20 years these Relays have been located at various places in the piers of Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and used heavily on a daily basis.
